Mardi Gras, Venetian Feather Masks

The date was march 3rd,of 1699 when the first American Mardi Gras was celebrated. The tradition still carries on today however, it wasn’t until the mid 1800′s that official parade organizations started to form. First with the Mystic Krewe of Comus in 1856, and then the Krewe of Rex in 1872. New Orleans still carries on with the tradition of Mardi Gras with many new Krewes that are now part of the history of the great celebration that occurs for one full week prior to one week fasting period of lent.

Mardi Gras is the last opportunity for over indulgence in food, and drink and generally having just a great time before you have to settle down until next year, when we get to do it all over again. Also know as Fat Tuesday, this Pre-Lenten celebration isis observed in Roman Catholic communities as well as French communities as a time of preparation just before Ash Wednesday, and the beginning of lent.

Mardi Gras celebrations consist of spectacular parades full of Floats, dancing in the streets, with really elaborate costumes, masks, and all kinds of celebratory events such as pageants, masquerade Balls, and all night parties. If you have never been to a Mardi Gras celebration, then you have truly missed a once in a life time week long party. :)

No masks Here, Comment and Keyword Luv

Hello Friends, and thank you for visiting Our little place on the web.
We have installed some pretty cool plug-ins here so that we can reward our visitors with some Comment Luv, and Key word Luv.

I’m sure most of you know what these plug-ins are about, but for those who do not; I will try to explain.

The plug-ins are for rewarding our visitors who leave quality comments, and constructive criticism. When you leave a comment that is On -Topic and not spammy in nature, We will reward you with a back link to your site. Everybody, who knows anything at all about search engine optimization, knows that quality back links rule. Much more so than a ton of back links from low ranking sites. A link to your site is just like a vote in a popularity contest. The more votes (inbound links) you get, the higher you move up the search engine ladder. A few Quality links from sites that rank really well will beat out a mass quantity of garbage links every time, At least that’s how I see it, So please be advised, If you leave a comment like “Hey, cool blog man” I am going to delete it. To have your comment approved, just stay on topic, and leave something that’s worth the other visitors time.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you come back
